lululemon Lifestyle Family Gift Guide

Fitness is a family affair in our home…and we don’t lose sight of our goals just because the temperature drops. Whether we are vacationing on the beaches of Florida or hiking in the Tennessee woods, lululemon keeps us stylishly active all season long. We know summer bodies are made in winter so we continue to remain active throughout the colder months…and parenting is a workout in itself! As the weather changes, so does our style but our family remains committed to the quality and flattering designs created by lululemon. With the holidays quickly approaching, our family has put together a lululemon gift guide….our favorite pieces, that we own, for women, men and teens! Let the magic of well-designed fitness and lounge wear MOVE you!

WOMEN

My signature style is a look that I define as “lounge glam.” This is the intentional fashion philosophy that takes me from the gym to the unexpected, after school parent conference. As the mother of seven children, I need to be dressed tastefully but also stylishly. I want my clothes to flatter and support, not reveal and let loose, which is why I am loyal to lululemon the majority of my week. Here are my personal favorites that you can gift the active women in your life this holiday season. Encourage them to start the new year off with a stylish new approach to health and fitness.

1. Reveal Tights (Leggings)

For the past two years, I have been loyal to lululemon’s REVEAL line….as any Instagram friend could confirm. This collection features seamlessly integrated open-hole construction so you get that much-needed dose of airflow—without feeling exposed. These leggings give you full coverage, let your legs breath and offer tummy control. I have a drawer dedicated to the Reveal line and each time a new pattern is released, I am the first to buy! I get compliments on these in public and this is my go-to everyday legging for the gym or leisure. These run true to size.

2. Energy Sports Bra

Although this jacket is both wind and water resistant, the best part is that it can fold up and fit in a small bag. Perfect for travel! The Cloudscape jacket is super soft and room enough for heavy sweatshirts underneath! LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!

5. Love Tank Pleated

The Love Pleated tanks are my favorite tank from lululemon. The pleat in the back of the shirt produces an A-line silhouette which means this shirt doesn’t grab at your hips or your tummy. You can let it hang loose, front tuck it or tie it in a knot as I usually do.

6. Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Crew

In the colder months, my daughter and I rely on the Swifty Tech Long Sleeve Crew to keep us warm. The thumb holes keep our hands warm and sleeves in place while the Silverescent® technology inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria on the garment….which means it’s anti-stick. I typically wear the love pleated tank underneath and sized up to a size 6 so its not too snug.

7. Down For It All Jacket

Our go-to coat for the colder months is the Down For It All jacket. The tailored silhouette is very flattering while the tech design is fully loaded for running in cold, wet weather. The insulation warms places most exposed to rain and snow, while down feathers lock in heat at your core. For a little extra layering and room, I sized up. I do think it runs a tad small, however its a fabulous jacket for style and performance.

8. Fast and Free Tight

Pockets and tummy control…that’s why I own the Fast and Free tight. Engineered to feel like a second skin layer, these leggings are great when you need to be hands free and prefer a light weight pant.

TEENAGE GIRLS

My teenage daughter is a high school sprinter and competitive cheerleader. While she used to borrow all of my lululemon, she is forging her own style as she prepares for college. She is 5’5” with a muscular lower half; she prefers coordinating bra and leggings sets, cropped sweatshirts and clothing with storage!

1.Speed Up Tight

No teenager is ever fully dressed without a cell phone so my daughter loves the Speed Up Tight. These lightweight leggings are fully loaded with built-in storage for cell phones, keys and ID’s and are designed with reflectivity, a safety feature any parent can appreciate.

2. Scuba Hoodie Light Cotton Fleece

With 15 colors to choose from, this zip up hoodie is a popular choice for teenage girls. The Scuba hoodie can be used for pre or post training and although just as comfortable as a sweatshirt, gives you a more tailored and polished look.

3. Everywhere Belt Bag

Fanny packs are back….with a much cooler name and better look. I love this Everywhere Belt Bag because its the perfect solution for a hands free day out….hike, jog, go to a game or spend the day at a park, this bag will hold all of your essential close to you without the hassle of a purse! You can wear it as a cross body bag or around your waist!

4. Speed Up Short 2.5”

Although my daughter and I both love the Speed Up shorts, we have different preferences on length. I feel more comfortable with the 4” length and my teenager and her friends, not surprisingly, prefer the shorter 2.5” inseam. Both of us do size up to a 6 in these shorts just for a bit more room. Speed Ups are made with lightweight, sweat-wicking Swift fabric. The front two gel pockets connect so you can stash cards, keys, or cash inside the waistband and there's a secure zippered pocket at the back of the waistband.

5. Cool Racerback II

My teenager daughter loves this Cool Racerback II tank because its designed to stay put with a lot of activity. Whether she’s tumbling or running, this fitted shirt stays out of her way and allows for full range of movement.

MEN

My husband is a former Major League Baseball player who wears athletic wear every day….he is also very particular about the way fabrics feel and the length of his pants/shorts as he is 6’4”. Style is also important to him because he is a man with simple tastes; he wants well designed activewear but he doesn’t like a lot of color or print. With that being said, here are his picks for his favorite lululemon gear.

1.City Sweat Pullover Hoodie

This is my husband’s “dressy sweatshirt” and for a man who prefers his college baseball sweatshirt, its a fabulous upgrade in style. There are also hidden media and phone pockets to make training or lounge wear just a bit more functional.

2.T.H.E Shorts 11”

Think of these shorts as a more polished pair of basketball or athletic shorts. T.H.E shorts are generously cut with more room through the quads and rear. There is also an interior media pocket for storage making this my husband’s favorite pair of athletic shorts. They are available in shorter lengths as well.

3. ABC Jogger

These are a new favorite for my husband not just for the comfort but for the name. A.B.C stands for “anti ball crushing,’ and like most men, his inner 12-year-old self laughs every time he says their name. If the man in your life could use a new pair of sweats, buy these for the laughter that will accompany the pants! These come in varied lengths as well.

4. Navigation Down Jacket

I purchased this jacket for my husband this year after he felt that his pea coat was just a bit “too stuffy.” The Navigation Down Jacket protects him from cold and wind while the stitch free down channels are more flexible and comfortable than his other jackets. This can be dressed up or down which is the perfect solution for the man who lives his life in activewear.

5. Metal Vent Tech Sleeveless Shirt

IMG_2200.jpg

Anyone who follows me on Instagram can vouch for my husband’s love of this sleeveless shirt. If he’s not wearing it as an undershirt, he’s wearing it to workout or to plant fruit trees or pumpkin patches in our backyard. Of all of my husband’s lululemon shirts, this is by far his most used. Think of this as the modern and more stylish version of a ribbed under shirt.

6. Always in Motion Boxer

I’ll be honest….I buy all of my husband’s underwear. I don’t know why holes and waistbands that have ripped away from the fabric bother me more than him, but such is life in our home. He does love when I gift him the Always in Motion underwear however. These smooth textured, ultra soft boxers are breathable, sweat-wicking and keep their shape after multiple washes. They stay in place and “don’t ride up” which is an important factor when chasing after seven children.

Teenage Boys/Men

There are only two things I am recommending here but two that I feel are important to mother of teenage athletes or men who lost their belongings.

1.Pace Breaker Shorts

After losing his wallet and brand new ID at the mall because he “didn’t have pockets,” I invested in a few pairs of these athletic shorts for my son. These shorts have so many storage options that he has no excuse to lose anything anymore. The Pace Breaker shorts are made with lightweight, four-way stretch, sweat-wicking fabric and feature a mesh fabric vent on the back (what man couldn’t use that?) They’re lined with underwear that fits like a short, not a brief. The best part of these shorts is that the liner is made with quick-drying mesh fabric and a phone pocket with cord exit. Even better, there is an extra pocket at the centre back that holds your device securely without a zipper. Every man that loses his phone and his keys needs to own these shorts.

2. City Sweat Jogger

For a dressier, casual look, I purchased these City Sweat Joggers for my son because of their more relaxed feel and because of their zippered back pocket. Traditional sweatpants aren’t suitable for a lot of occasions but these joggers are a nicer and more polished alternative. The zippered pocket keeps his phone and wallet safe without any risk of falling out.
