Designing Kids' Spaces with Purpose

In the wise words of Mr. Rogers, “Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning.” Often, the concept of “play” is synonymous with images of kids playing tag or hide and go seek, and when we think of children learning, we imagine children in classrooms or on trips to museums.. Learning and play don’t have to be separate and distinct—especially when it comes to designing a children’s bedroom.

Todd Oldham Studio’s SMARTS & CRAFTS brand for Walmart encourages learning in the home with playful, graphic designs for furniture and decor that make education more engaging! My son’s Smarts & Crafts Dinosaur Pals Comforter Set features six different dinosaurs that are labeled with their species from the Prehistoric era. These brightly colored dinosaurs are an ambient learning tool for anyone interested in learning about these ancient beasts!

For a coordinated look, pair this comforter set with the Smarts & Crafts Dinosaur Dig sheet set and Dinosaur Canvas Wall Art 2 pack. As a mother of seven with a Master’s Degree in Education, I love the concept of infusing environmental print, science, art, language and history to foster learning in a space where children are most comfortable!
